Through The Annals of POC

3rd December 1966 –

 Very Rev. Fr. Michael Angel wrote a letter to all Bishops of Kerala to materialize the Idea of Founding POC

6th December 1966 –

 Fr. Kannath had visited Bishops of seven diocese

9th February 1967 –

9 representatives from 5 diocese met on Mangalapuzha Seminary Alwaye and a temporary advisory board had been formed.

28th March 1967 –

Second Meeting held in Mangalapuzha Seminary Alwaye and the advisory board had been re- organised.

25th October 1967 –

First Program (A Seminar for catechists) by POC was conducted.

27th October 1967 –

Fr. Dominic OCD was elected as the first president of POC. “Fr. Zachariah’s Hall” in Mangalapuzha Seminary was declared as the temporary POC.

2nd February 1968 –

KCBC had issued the approval of the establishment of POC.

19th February 1968 –

Cardinal Maxmillan Feurstenberg officially inaugurated POC.

2nd July 1968 –

KCBC Meeting held at POC to bring out a common catechism series after the model of “On our way series” by Sr. Maria de Cruz.

2nd March 1969 –

POC was shifted to Manjummel Retreat Center belonging to OCD Congrigation.

15th August 1969 –

A two year training course for catechists was inaugurated by Cardinal Parekattil.

1969 –

The Pastoral Training Institute was established.

17th February 1970 –

The Third General Body meeting of POC Commission took place in St. Theresa College. POC was become a registered society.

31st March 1970 –

POC was transferred to rented building at Kaloor.

29th December 1970 –

POC was shifted to the present building at Palarivattom.

January 1972 –

The Common Catechetical Texts and Moral Science books were Published from POC.

2nd November 1975 –

The Chapel was Blessed by H.G. Archbishop Mar Joseph Kelanthara.

21st January 1976 –

Mass Media Commission was launched.

23rd October 1976 –

The Bible Commission was Commenced.

1976 –

Palarivattom Community Development Trust was formed.

13th December 1977 –

The New Testment in Malayalam was Published by Bible Commission.

1978 –

“Talent”  a magazine for Catechetical Purpose was launched.

1978 –

The Catechetical Commission was established.

1979 –

Bible Kalolsavam was Launched.

1986 –

The Complete Bible was Published.

1987 –

Bible Drama Competition were started.

1989 –

Bible Correspondence Course was begun.

December 1990 –

Kerala Catholic Bible Society was Established.

1990 –

KCBC Literature Award was Established.

22nd January 1990 –

POC Publication Department was started.

1991-

 Jesus Fraternity begun its office at POC.

1993 –

Silver Jubilee of POC was Celebrated.

5th February 1996 –

New residential building called POC Annex was blessed by Archbishop Mar Joseph Powathil.

2016-

Moral Science books in English were Published.

2018 –

Golden Jubilee of POC was Celebrated.

2018 Study Bible I (Gospels) has been Published
1st December 2020 Study Bible II (Acts, Epistels and Revelation) has been Published

8th January 2021 –

Online Official News Portal of KCBC  “www.kcbcnews.com” was launched by H.B. Cardinal Mar George Alencherry.

16th May 2021 –

Redisigned KCBC Website was Inaugurated by Very Rev. Msgr. Dr. George Kurukkur.
